Master Black Belt development program

Master black belts (MBB's) play a key role in an organisation's mastery of process development, improvement and control. It is their responsibility that the organisation maintains and expands its competency in these areas that leverage an organisation's performance. MBB's are highly developed professionals. IBIS UvA offers candidates a challenging program, consisting of advanced level training modules and field experience.

Requirements for MBB certification

  1. The candidate has completed the Black Belt (BB) program, including the BB certification. This means that the candidate has successfully executed two projects and has passed the BB exam.
  2. The candidate has submitted two additional projects, in which he/she has acted as BB. The projects should be of substantial weight. A project is of substantial weight if, for example, the savings are more than €250, if the project involves multiple sites, or if the project involves senior management steering.
  3. The candidate has provided project support and has acted as reviewer for at least four GB or BB projects.
  4. The candidate has submitted a paper to a periodical (such as the company's house organ), or has delivered a presentation at a seminar or symposium.
  5. The candidate has demonstrable teaching experience (at least three days active as principal teacher in a Six Sigma GB or BB training).
  6. The candidate has followed an eight days' MBB training. The training is composed of selected modules (or parts thereof) from the MBB training program.
